MAE ADKINS HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Mae Wooten Adkins, 78, of Huntington, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2008, at her residence following a short illness. Preceding her in death were her parents, Fred and Polly Wooten of Holden; her husband, Sam Adkins; her sisters, Virginia Wooten Hutchinson and Mildred Wooten Parsley, and her brother, James F. Wooten. Mae was a 1948 graduate of Logan High School, a member of the Central Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Stars, Logan Chapter 60. Survivors include her loving niece, Kim Wooten (Mark) Rose, and Hunter and Logan Rose, all of Louisville, Ky.; brothers, are Clyde (Doris) Wooten of Huntington, Howard (Lois Ann) Wooten, Larry (Amanda) Wooten and Bob (Sharon) Wooten, all of Logan, and Tom (Donna) Wooten of Lexington; her sisters, Irene Hammersley of Cumming, Ga., and Mary Lou (Leonard) Hovis of Logan; sisters-in-law, Betty Wooten of Logan and Ann Adkins of Huntington; her brother- and sister-in-law, Caudle and Pat Adkins of Huntington; her special nieces and nephews, Gale (Gretchen) Hutchinson, Billijean Cohen, Debbie Wooten, Sandy (Jim) Shea, Kellie (Bart) Willis, Karen (John) Gregory, Kristen (Brad) Erdman, Stacie (Joe) Nahstoll, Jennifer (Lyle) McCarty, Julie (John) Zuspan, Jill (Michael) Siegle, Ashley (Jeff) Robinette, Jack David (Butch) Parsley, Adam Wooten, Chris (Michele) Hovis and Chad (Sarah) Hovis; her great-nieces and nephews, Beth and Kevin Parsley, Nicole Cohen, Kaley Gregory, Madison and Connor Nahstoll, Zach Zuspan and Riley and C.J. Hovis. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 11, at the Central Baptist Chruch with the Rev. Glenn White Jr. and Rev. C.J. Adkins, her nephew, officiating. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Baptist Church, or the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
