Margie Marcum

Margie Marcum, 81, of York, SC formerly of Logan, went home to her Lord on Sunday, September 21, 2014. Born September 24, 1932, in Logan, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Herbert and Linda Eliza Vance. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jesse Lee Marcum, two infant daughters, three brothers Herbert Alfred, John and Clifford Vance, and four sisters Ruth Hayes, Ellen Joseph-Wilson, Gladys Adkins-Bryan and Dorothy Mae Vance. Margie was a member of Mt. Zion Old Regular Baptist Church at Canoe Branch in Chapmanville, WV; she was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by everyone having the pleasure to know her. Survivors include five children: Brenda (Steve) Thabet of Huntington, Patricia (Rod Delin) Bryant of Clover, SC, Diane (Greg) Doss of Rock Hill, SC, Terry (Dayna) Marcum of Granger, IN and Jerry (Iis) Marcum of Los Angeles, CA; Grandchildren: Jessica Myers, Amanda Doss, Stephanie (Kyle) Meyer, Meagan Marcum, Olivia Leanne (Sagar) Kodali, Leslie Marcum, Jonathan Marcum and Isabella Marcum; three great grandchildren: Katelynn Myers, Hailey Gleason and Adalynn Grace Meyer; Three brothers: Kenneth (Margaret) Vance of Logan, Elbert (Goldie) Vance of Waverly, OH and Lloyd (Marilyn) Vance of Sebring, FL; Two Sisters Judy (Chuck) Hayter of Pikeville, TN and Gean (Rodger) LeMaster of Lake Wales, FL. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at James Funeral Home in Aracoma, WV with Pastor Kenneth Vance officiating. She will be laid to rest at Guyan Memorial Gardens at Godby following the funeral. Friends may gather at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014.
