Mark Sefton

Mark J. Sefton, Sr. of West Logan, WV departed this life on December 24, 2019. He was born at Lundale, WV on March 6, 1936. He was the son of the late Norman and Bessie Sefton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, June Clark and Joan Kirk and one brother, James Sefton. Mark worked with his father as a Land Surveyor at McCall Engineering for many years. He was previously County Surveyor for Logan County and retired as Flood Zone Administrator for the Logan County Commission. He was a member of Peach Creek United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Logan High School Class of 1955 always enjoying planning for and attending his Class of ’55 reunions. Mark was a lifetime member of Loyal Order of Moose. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Mark Sefton, Jr (Betty) of Sissonville, WV, two daughters, Jewell Langford and Melanie Sefton of Clarksville, TN., his siblings, Jack Sefton of Ormond Beach, FL, John Sefton of Raceland, Ky and Mary Randan of West Logan. He left five grandchildren, Michael and Cheryl Sefton of Sissonville, Amanda Harrell (Rob) of Dixon, Tn, Crystal Guillemette (Ricky) of Ft. Riley, Ks, and Samantha Douglas (Shawn) of Clarksville, Tn., and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves his former wife and the mother of his children, Lois Smith and special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Donna Collins of Clarksville, TN. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2019 at Akers-James Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Geurink officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV.
