Mary Alma Baisden, 87, of Dingess, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 5, 2014 with her family and friends by her side.
She was born on March 27, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Ed and Effie Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Baisden, her sisters and brothers, 1 son, Sherman Baisden Jr., and 2 grandsons J.R. Baisden and Aaron Dakota Adams.
Those left to cherish her memory are one brother, Frank (Audra) Carter of Verdunville, 2 sons, Elvis (Debbie) Baisden and Wayne (Sylvia) Baisden, both of Dingess, 7 daughters, Vell Finley, Kathy (Jerry) Copley, Lassie Blackburn (Freddie Perry), Sally Maynard, of Dingess, Hassie (Darrell) Conley of Van, Cassie (Norman) Williamson of Verdunville, and Sandra Grimmet (Charles Patterson Sr.) of Whitman, 37 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 2 people she thought of as her children, Gladys Schmitt and Pee Wee Conley, a special care taker and granddaughter, Lisa Blackburn and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Dingess, WV with Elbert Collins Jr., James Ed Baisden, and Matt Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at the Baisden Cemetery. Friends may call after 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. James Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
