Mary Gogus

Mary Gogus 84 of West Logan went to be with her Lord on Sunday June 8, 2008 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV She was born March 28, 1924 at Cabin Creek, WV she was the daughter of the late Gay Preston and Elizabeth Couley Arehart. Preceding her in death was her loving husband of 64 years: Mike Gogus. On Daughter: Canissa Sue Workman, One Grandson: James Michael Gogus, One Sister and Eight Brothers. Mary was a member of the Church of God at Leevale but attended the Logan Church of the Nazarene. Mary devoted her life to serving others as a cook at the Smoke House Restaurant for 22 years. She loved gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory include One Daughter: Amelia (Larry) Perry of Oak Hill, WV, One Son: Michael (Donna) Gogus of Fort Payne, Alabama, 5 Grandchildren: Stephanie Perry, Melissa (Tony) Browning, Jerry (Ernestina) Workman, Michael (Leah) Gogus and Joseph Gogus, 7 Great Grandchildren: Larry A. Perry, Preston Curry, Christopher and Joseph Gogus, Nickolas Browning, R.J. and Kasey Adkins and One Sister: Canissa Coon. One ex granddaughter in law: Crystal Gogus. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday June 12, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday June 11, 2008 at James Funeral Home. Friends and Family members will serve as pallbearers. Condolences may be sent to www.jamesfh.com.
