Melvin (Jimmy) Spears

Melvin “Jimmy” Spears, 65 of West Logan departed this life on Sunday September 5, 2021, at his residence. He was born September 26, 1955, in Omar to the late Donal Spears and Pauline Bearfield Spears. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Pam Spears, daughter, Jessica Spears; brothers, James Spears and Willard Harmon; sister, Kathlene “Kitty” Rogers; nephew, Dewey York; and lifelong friend, Jimmy Ferrell. Jimmy enjoyed working on any and everything in his garage and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Jimmy Spears, Katrina (Joe) Chafin, Doug (Kim) Chapman, Tabitha (Whitney) Spears, Scottie (Heather) Spears, Steven (Stacy) Spears and Marsha (Jeremy) Spears; his grandchildren, Kirsten “Sugar Bear” Chafin, Austin Chapman, Timothy “Chubs” Lawrence, A’lara “Moo Moo” Spears, Gionna Chapman, Taylor Partlo, Katelyn Chapman, Trinity Spears, Jeremy “JayJay” Fleming, Tanner Spears, Aubrey “Monkey” Spears, Malaya Fleming, Steven “JR” Spears, Tucker Spears and one on the way, Tinsley Spears; sisters, Virginia Miller and Patty Duke and their families; sister-in-law, Kim Smoot; brother-in-law’s, Chris Smoot, and Dennis Chafin; nieces and nephews, Danielle (Kevin) Brown, Halie (Josh) Hall, Kenneth (Chasity) Abbott, Jenna Smoot, Lucas Smoot and Lisa Eplin. Special friends Larry O’Bryan, Kenny Hickman, Clinton Crum, and little Jimmy Ferrell. Per his request he will be cremated and there will be no services.
