Orville Willis

Orville Willis, 87 of Amherstdale, WV passed away Tuesday December 8, 2015 at Trinity Healthcare Services in Logan. Born March 28, 1928 in Sias, WV he was the son of the late Vinson Willis Sr. and Adina Spears Willis. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Sylvie Jones Willis, son Michael Willis, daughter Elisha Willis and sons David and Mark Carpenter. Mr. Willis was a member of the Accoville United Methodist Church and a retired coal miner of the Amherst Coal Company. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. Those left to cherish his memory include: brothers Arthur (Loretta) Willis, Cecil (Nora) Willis, Vinson (Mary Margaret) Willis Jr., and David Lee Willis. Sisters: Rosa Lovejoy, Imogene Elkins, and Myrtle (Albert) Prince and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday December, 11 2015 at the Accoville United Methodist Church with Rev. Norman Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at the Lovejoy Spears Cemetery in Midkiff. Visitation will be Thursday December 10 also at the church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staffs at Trinity Healthcare Services and Logan Regional Medical Center.
