Oscar Ray Hensley

Oscar Ray Hensley of Dingess, WV departed this life January 16, 2025 at his residence. Oscar was the son of the late Dave and Evelyn Messer of Dingess. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his infant daughter, Melissa Hensley; two sons, Paul and Michael Hensley; two sisters, Katie Bryant and Jewell Vance; and brother, Michael Messer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, James Hensley, and Danny Hensley; daughter, Donna Sue Workman; brother, James (Mary) Messer; and sister, Sadie (Teddy) Browning. Oscar also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Akers-James Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Avis Cemetery at Verdunville. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
