Paul Merial Adams, 67 of Whitman was born January 30, 1950 at Whitman the son of the late Paul and Monnie Adams. He departed this life on March 11, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by: his brother, Keith Adams; his maternal grandparents, Gordon and Nellie Mae Kelly; his paternal grandparents Millard and Lucy Adams; and several aunt, uncles, and cousins.
Paul was employed at Island Creek Parkway Store at 5 & 6 Holden from 1968 to the 1980âs when it closed. He was also employed at Central Gulf and a machine shop in Kentucky. He also work at Guyan Valley Hospital and Logan Regional Medical Center where he retired in 2015. He was saved and was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by five sisters: Sandra M. Adams with which he made his home of Whitman, Rebecca (Reather) Gillman of Whitman, Nancy Adkins (Bob Weisner) of Justice Addition, Millie (J.D.) Wolfe of Huntington, and Kelly Shawn (Oscar Carrillo) of Whitman; brothers, Mark (Sue) Adams of Mud Fork, James E. (Linda) Adams of Mill Creek; special nephew, Harold Preece of Delbarton; 3 nieces; his special pets, Molly and Brutus who he loved very much.; his caregivers, Patty Hall, Judy Adams, and Jennifer Hill who he loved and always made him happy. He also leaves behind his coworkers at Logan Regional Medical Center who he cared about and enjoyed working with.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday March 15 at Akers-James Funeral Home with Rev. Rick McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Pallbearers will be family members.
