Phillip Roy Collins, 62 of Lyburn went home to Jesus Saturday, January 2, 2021 with his wife by his side.
He was born January 30, 1958 at Earling to the late Opal (Ryan) and Avery Collins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gary Isaacs.
Phillip was a humble man who loved the Lord with all his heart. He gave his life to Jesus in February 1980, at Hunt Baptist Tabernacle, where he has been a member ever since. Reading the Bible was his passion. He loved to talk about Jesus and rarely missed a church service before he became ill with Black Lung.
He met the love of his life in 1980 and they were married at Man Hospital in June 1982. They were married for 38 years and have 3 beautiful children that he loved very much.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy (Issacs) Collins; 2 sons whom he loved and was very proud of, Phillip (Latonya) Collins II, and Gary (Bridgett) Collins; his daughter, Kristen (Johnny) Arthur, who was the apple of his eye; 2 brothers, Larry (Sandy) Collins of Gilman Bottom and Carl (Sue) Collins of Lyburn; sister-in-law, Monica (Lee) Perry of Lyburn; his mother-in-law who he loved as a Mom, Sandra Issacs; 9 grandchildren there were all precious to him and loved very much, Shay Collins, Kandice Blair, Gary Collins Jr., Haleigh Collins, Chase Adams, Elizabeth Adams, Charlee Adams, Cameron Arthur, and Peyton Arthur, who he called his little buddy; many nieces and nephews that he loved, Carl Collins Jr., Michael Collins, Larry Collins Jr., Bobby Joe Collins, Jeremy Collins, Ashlie Workman, Bethany Sincell, and Justin Issacs; a host of great nieces and nephews; ex daughter-in-law, Allison Collins; a host of friends and church members of the Hunt Baptist Tabernacle the he loved like family; his little Lap Baby, Sadie who was always with him and make him come to bed; two special friends, Jerry Perry and Tracy Adkins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Akers-James Funeral Home with Rev. Rocky Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday, at the funeral home.
