Phillip Robert Wellman

Phillip R. “Bob” Wellman, 83 of Dingess, WV died July 2, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center at Lexington, KY. He was born June 6, 1936 at Dingess, WV to the late Hugh and Della Fuller Wellman. Bob worked for Hobet Mining Co. for 42 years and he was also active in politics. He was a Committee Man for Mingo Co for 40 years. He also owned 3 Way Carry Out Grocery. He served in the United States Army for 3 years at Fort Benning, GA. He will be sadly missed by all his friends and church members at the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church. God bless all. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Midkiff) Wellman of Dingess, WV; daughter, Bobbie Beach of Dingess, WV; and brother, Gary Wellman of Dingess, WV. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday July 6, 2019 at the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church at Dingess, WV with Pastor Jimmy Darrell Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in the Wellman Family Cemetery at Dingess. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church.
