Richard E. Spears

Richard E. Spears of Logan West Virginia, age 77 passed away peacefully in Brooksville, FL. May 14, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 10, 1945. He is preceded in death by his father Thomas “Eddie” and mother Helen Hanes Spears and his grandmother Ethel Hanes. He is survived by his wife, Linda Marcum Spears and son Richard, II,(Cindy), grand daughter Michelle Spears and sister Dotty Hagan (Johnny). 

He attended Marshall University where he received a degree in education.  He began his teaching career in 1967 that spanned 40+ years. During those years, he impacted hundreds of lives. A vast majority of students credit him with their future career choices of becoming a doctor, biologist, teacher, nurse, and other important areas within the community. 

O.R.E.O. Will never be forgotten.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV.
