Robert Lee "Rod" Baisden, 57, of Mt. Gay passed away Monday April 2, 2007 at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born October 23, 1949 at Baisden Bottom in Logan to the late John Ed Baisden Sr. and Georgia Workman Baisden. He was also preceded in death by two sisters; Grace Hurley and Verna Maynard. Six brothers; Cecil, Lucian, Henderson, Denver, Chester and Ivan. Rod was always an honest and straight forward person who loved to hunt and fish. He belonged and attended regularly the Verdunville Community Church. He was an employee at Fat Jacks and Four Seasons and also a retired employee from SWVCTC. Additonally those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Dolly Canterbury Baisden of Mt. Gay. Five brothers; Jim Baisden of Verdunville, Boyd Baisden of Elyria, Ohio, Dwight "Ike" (Barbara) Baisden of Vermillion, Ohio, Carlos Ray (Vickie) Baisden of Souix City, Iowa and John Ed (Nina) Baisden Jr. of Verdunville. Two daughters; Elsie Elizabeth (Jerry) Dillon II of Delbarton and Martha Lee Baisden of Davenport, Virginia. Two step-daughters; Vicky Canterbury of Mt. Gay and Kristy (Billy) Vance of Mt. Gay. Four grandsons and one granddaughter. Visitation will be Wednesday April 4, 2007 from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M at James Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday April 5, 2007 at 2:00 P.M also at James Funeral Home with Rev. Nick Adams and Rev. Doug Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Baisden Cemetery at Verdunville. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Condolences may be left at www.jamesfh.com.
