Robert Mayhorn

Robert “Bob-o” Mayhorn, 72 of Cape Canaveral, Fl departed this life on Friday, September 11, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Homer and Celia Mayhorn. Robert was born in Ethel, WV on May 5, 1948. He was a 1966 Graduate of Logan High School. He was a long-time employee of Kroger. Robert also fulfilled his duty in the United States Army and obtained an Associated Degree in Business from Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College. Robert was the owner/operator of Morrison’s Drive Inn, Janet’s Park and Eat, and Parkway Drive In. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son Shane Robert Mayhorn. Robert was a devoted husband, father, and Pop-o and is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Sherry (Reffeitt) Mayhorn, his son, Jay Mayhorn (Stacie), grandchildren Parker and Conner Mayhorn, and sister Judy Mariano (Charlie). Anyone that knew Bob-o, knew that he had a passion for golf, travel, his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him on and off the golf course. The family held a private graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery, arrangements made by Akers-James Funeral Home. A celebration of Roberts life will be held at a future date due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Those who wish to remember Robert in a special way are welcome to make contributions to Central Life Church.
