Robert "Bob" Shanklin

Robert “Bob” Shanklin, 76 of Logan, WV departed this life Thursday, July 13, 2023, at his home.

He was born September 23, 1946, to the late Luther and Blanche (Muncey) Shanklin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Shanklin; and his brother, Johnny Shanklin.

Bob retired in 2008 from Bob's Union 76 of Logan after 30 years. He enjoyed going to Nascar races, camping, boating, four wheeling, and buying and selling things, WVU football and basketball. Bob was truly a jack of all trades and could build or fix anything.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Teddy) Copley of Garret Fork; brothers, David (Joyce) Shanklin, Buzz (Joyce) Shanklin, and Tommy (Lois) Shanklin; sisters-in-law, Delores Vance, Stella Hightower, and Sharon Chambers; brothers-in-law, John (Sandy) Chambers, and Jimmy Chambers. Bob is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Akers-James Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2023, also at the funeral home.

Pallbears will be Paul Shanklin, Brandon Chambers, Rick Hightower, Ralph Hightower, Keving Brewer, and Kenneth Mullins.
