Robin K. Samuels

Robin K. Samuels, age 68, departed this life, entering into her eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 4, 2023.

A resident of Holden, WV, Robin was born on July, 8 1954. Robin is survived by her two beloved daughters, Rena (Eric) Springer and Karen (Jason) Jordan, beloved grandson, Carter Jordan, two special great nephews, Elijah and Noah, her sister and lifelong best friend Patty Lockhart and close friend and brother-in-law, Ray Lockhart, niece Erica (Jake) Lockhart Robinson, two brothers, Denny and Donny Jude, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernestine and Willie Conley, her husband John R. Samuels, and her grandmother Nancy Jude. Robin was a 1972 graduate of Logan Senior High School in Logan, WV and a graduate of Southern's nursing program for RNs. She had a passion for nursing and helping others. She was called upon often by family for medical advice. She jokingly was our resident family nurse. She began her nursing career at Holden Hospital and retired from Logan Regional Medical Center with 30 years of devoted service where she made many friends and made a lasting impression on those she encountered. She was known as an outstanding nurse, making a lasting impact on those around her.

Robin was of the Christian faith. She attended both The Lord's House and Mt. Gay Freewill Baptist Church when she was able. She loved the Lord. To know Robin was to love her. She was one of the most loving, selfless, and kind women. She loved her family unconditionally, and she was the best mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was warmth and light, and a perfect example of what it means to love. Joking and laughing came naturally to Robin. She could easily make those around her laugh, and she enjoyed giving the young ones in her life a hard time. She enjoyed road trips, talking on the phone, watching her shows, her iPad, and sharing recipes. She also could cut a rug in her younger days and enjoyed listening to the oldies. It was rare to see her without a smile on her face. The world will surely be a little dimmer without her in it. She was so loved and will be missed terribly.

A memorial service is scheduled for 7:00pm on May 10, 2023 at Akers-James Funeral Home in Logan, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Akers-James Funeral Home. Friends and family may offer condolences from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Lifetime friend, Reverend Layton Lockhart, will be officiating.
