Roger Dale Boytek, 58, of Danville was called home to be with the Lord Thursday July 12, 2007 at Logan Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 6, 1948 to the late Johnny and Betty Jo Boytek. Roger was a retired coal miner, a Mason, a loving and caring son, husband, father, papaw, brother-in-law and uncle. His generosity and compassion made him a friend to all that knew him. He will be deeply missed. Those left to cherish memories of the time spend with him include his wife of 39 years, Mary Ruth. Two daughters; Johnnie Mae at home, Julie Jo (David) Morgan, along with two precious grandsons; Oliver and Sam Morgan all of Athens. One brother, Jackie (Jennie) Boytek of Blair. One sister, Sue (JD) Justice of Summerfield, Fla. His nieces and nephews; Tammy Hayes of MD., Pammy (Tuffy) Fortune of Chapmanville, Jacquie Kay Boytek of Blair, Mary âGoodgirlâ (Bill) Egnor of Morrisvale, Crystal Haddix of Port Richey, Fla., Lynn Withrow of Buffalo, WV., Laura and Eric Campbell of Chapmanville, Johnny, Matthew, Nathan, Lauren and Logan Schoolcraft of Big Stone Gap, VA. His great-nieces and nephews; T.J. and Sarah Hayes, Jennifer and Travis Fortune, Brandon Sloan, Kaylea Jo and Kassidy Egnor. His beloved pets, Sami Girl Puppy and Spook the cat. Also surviving is a host of additional family members and friends. Funeral Services will be Sunday July 15, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the services at James Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Lambert officiating. Visitation will be Saturday July 14, 2007 from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home in Aracoma. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
