Roger Lee Sargent

Roger Lee Sargent 63 of Whitman was called home to be with the Lord and Savior on Monday July 28, 2008 at his residence after a brief illness with cancer. He was born October 26, 1944 at Logan. He was the son of the late Jesse and Irene Tomblin Sargent of Verdunville, WV. He was a christian who had amazing faith in the Lord and loved attending church every chance he had. While able he attended the No. 14 Whitman Freewill Baptist Church. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife who he loved and was devoted to for 39 years: Lillian his Two Daughters: Stephanie (Robert) Peraldo of Beckley, WV and Susan (Brett) Browning of Whitman, Three Brothers: Donald (Drema) Sargent, Larry (Loretta) Sargent and Timmy (Sherry) Sargent all of Verdunville, Several Nieces, Nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was also a Army Veteran. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday July 31, 2008 at 12:30 P.M. at James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alvis Porter, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby with Military Gaveside Services. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Donald Sargent, Timmy Sargent, Brett Browning, Robert Peraldo, Donald Swims and Jeremiah Swims. Condolences may be sent to www.jamesfh.com .
