Roger Dale Watson, 72 of Sissonville, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord February 25th, 2024. at CAMC Memorial Hospital with his loving wife, Wanda, and loving brother, Gary by his side.
He was born January 24th, 1952, to the late Darrell Watson and Pauline Watson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, George Cooper; paternal grandparents, Lee and Mae Watson and maternal grandparents, John and Ada Eplin, and several aunts and uncles.
Roger retired from the State of WV with 28 years of service at Southern WV Community College as an Electrican. He also worked as a coal miner. Roger had his master Electrican and Plumber certifications. He loved to raise a garden or farm his lower 40 as he called it, and hangout with his dogs, Wup Marie, Fudgie McGee, and Ralph Round-Head Watson, and his cat, Miss Baby.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Wanda Watson; brothers, Gary Watson, and Kenny Watson; sister, Wanda Cooper; step-daughter, Autumn (Roger) Glaspell; step-granddaughter, Avery Glaspell. Roger is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. His favorite saying was "We'll get there" and "We're going to ride that white horse".
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at Akers-James Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Prichard officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, February 29th, 2024, also at the funeral home.
