Ruby Marie (Mathis) Richardson 93 of Whitman, WV went to her Heavenly Home surrounded by her family Tuesday January 29, 2019 at Logan Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 12, 1925 at Amherstdale, WV the daughter of the late Lonnie and Tavie (Smith) Mathis formerly of Verdunville, WV.
She was a former employee of Sylvania Electric in Huntington, WV and the G. C. Murphy ( Dimestore) in Logan, WV. and the homemaker in the same home for 71 years. She was a member of the #14 Freewill Baptist Church. She loved cooking for family and spending time with them, she also enjoyed planting and caring for her flowers out in her yard and front porch.
Ruby was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Bernace Richardson, sons Grady Lee and Larry Joe, two brothers James and Lonnie Mathis Jr., two sisters Barbara Ann and Thelma Ruth Mathis and three brothers in law Dale Adkins, Alan Shaw, and Bernard Townsend, and sister-in-law, Christine Mathis.
Ruby is survived by her two sonâs Gary R. (Karen) Richardson, Gary L. (Sandy) Richardson, one brother T. F. (Alice) Mathis, three sisters Daisy Adkins, Rosalie (Butch) Leaf and Carol Townsend. Grandchildren Grady Richardson Jr, Amy Farley, Christa (Bill) Isaacs, Kevin Richardson (Misty) and Adam (Stephanie) Richardson. Great grandchildren Megan, Savannah, Jacob, Brittany, Rachel, Conner, Autumn, Caitlyn, Addison, Emma, Wyatt, Sawyer Novaleigh, Thomas and Tiffany and daughter-in-law, Karen J. Richardson, four great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be held at Akers-James Funeral Home at 2PM Sunday February 3, 2019. Visitation from 12 to 2 also at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Jeremy Thompson, Alvis Porter Jr. and Jody Bias. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
