Susie Mareschi, 85, of Uniontown, OH, formerly of Switzer, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, July 4, 2014.
Born April, 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Leonardo and Loretta Mareschi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Ermet of Switzer and Sant of West Logan; one sister, Frances Owens of West Logan; and one niece, Donna Harbutte of Caves Creek, Arizona.
Those left to cherish her memory include two brothers: Pete of St. Petersburg, Florida and Louie of Oswego, Illinois. She also had many nieces and nephews: Kim Ferone of Oswego, Illinois, Lynn Vance of Chapmanville, Martha Mareske of Switzer, Mark Mareske of West Logan, David Mareske of Charlotte, North Carolina, Gina Rohal of Charleston, and Vincent Owens of Uniontown, Ohio. In addition, she had several great-nieces and great-nephews dear to her heart.
In addition to her family, she enjoyed the company of many friends and attended the Switzer Church of God. Susie was a talented floral arranger and she also loved to relate to her family’s history and heritage to the younger members, collecting stories to pass to the next generation.
Susie was a graduate of Logan High School, class of 1947. She cared for her aging father until his death in 1979 then became the manager of AJ’s, a convenience mart in Switzer, where she worked until her retirement. Susie was a longtime resident of Micco, where she lived until late last year when illness made it necessary for her to move. She passed her remaining months under the care of family.
A celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Switzer Church of God. Friends may call at the church from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a charitable donation be made to Cross Roads Hospice Charitable Foundation, who labored faithfully day and night with the family during Susie’s final days: www.crhcf.org
