Verla Louise Vancovich

Verla Louise Vankovich joined her husband with the Lord on Tuesday, June 5, 2007. She was born June 30, 1915, in Coal Branch, West Virginia, to William Harmon Jones and Noreena Bell Young Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and two sisters, as well as her husband Eugene Vankovich, whom she was married to for 69 years and lifetime special friends of the couple Edith and John Bodnar. Verla is survived by her children Patricia Adkins of Charleston, South Carolina, Jean Lee Robinette, David Vankovich and Vicki (Joe C.) Ferrell of Logan, West Virginia; her grandchildren Teresa Adkins of Charleston, South Carolina, Mike Robinette of Huntington, West Virginia, Jennifer Robinette of Lexington, Kentucky, Ryan Vankovich and Mitzi (J. D.) Brammer of Logan, West Virginia, and Jodi Ferrell of Asheville, North Carolina; her great grandchildren Justin Adkins and Colby Adkins of Charleston, South Carolina, and Josef Brammer of Logan, West Virginia; and her great-great grandchildren Paul and Kyle Neely and Jaiden Corder of Charleston, South Carolina. Verla served as post mistress at McBeth, West Virginia, for several years. She was a homemaker and long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Logan. She is deeply loved and revered by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who know her as Nanny. Verla will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be Friday June 8, 2007 from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday June 9, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. and one hour prior to services at the First Presbyterian Church in Logan. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
