Virginia Hammack Quillin, 97, of Godby Heights formerly of West Logan and Blair, West Virginia went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her home while holding the hands of the daughter and listening to her read from the book of Psalms.
Born May 10, 1919 the youngest of 13 children born to the late John and Bertha Via Hammack was a beautiful Christian woman who was a member of the Church of Christ of Chapmanville, West Virginia.
Virginia was preceeded in death by her brothers and sisters, her husband of 63 years, James Quillin, a daughter-in-law Marge Quillin; Granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Farmer; Great Grandson, Nathaniel James Quillin.
"Ginny" as she was known by so many was an accomplished seamstress who could turn rags into riches, yarn into works of art, who loved to work puzzles, read her bible and go to church. She always looked forward to the days she could go out and have lunch, shop with her daughter Linda, they liked to call these outings as "running the roads" which is where she got one of her many nicknames, "Roadie".
Survived by her children, Jim Quillin of Medina, Ohio; Pat (Joe) Smith, Blair, WV; John (Sylvia) Quillin, Bristol, VA; Jerry (Joyce) Quillin, Caldonia, Michigan; Linda (Jim) Hutchinson, Godby Heights, WV; her Grandchildren, Debbie Fought, Terry Smith, John (Marty) Quillin, Mike Quillin, Kathy Rich, Kim Holstein, David Quillin, Chris Farmer, James (Jamie) Quillin, Jamie Chapman, and Jada Tate. 14 Great Grandchilden and 6 Great Great Grandchildren; several great nieces and nephews and many friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of Chapmanville, Kathryn Wellman and Sheena Griffin who helped with her care during her most difficult time.
Services will be conducted by Johnny Steel on Saturday, October 29 at 1:00 pm at Akers-James Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00 am until time of service. Burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, West Virginia...
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
