Wilburn Lewis Vance Jr.

Wilburn Lewis Vance, 71 of Dngess, WV departed this life Saturday, July 15, 2023, at home with his family.

He was born December 5, 1951, to the late Lewis and Nancy Vance. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by the love of his life, Branda Vance; sister, Evelyna Lackey; and brother, Bill Kirk, all of Dingess.

Wilburn was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from AEP after many years of service.

He is survived by his sons, Richman (Brandy) Vance, Richman “Buddy” Vance II, and Jarred (Betty Aldridge) Vance, all of Dingess; granddaughters, Alexis (Austin Marcum) Vance of Jennings Creek, and Baylee Vance of Dingess; and great-granddaughter, Kinley Marcum of Jennings Creek.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at Akers-James Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Vance Family Cemetery at Twelve Pole. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service, Friday at the funeral home.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
