William Ellis âBillâ Clegg, 85, of King Shoals, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Trinity Healthcare Services of Logan.
Born June 11, 1929 in Jeffersonville, Indiana he was the son of the late Charles and Jesse Mae Clegg.
Bill was a retired banker and a member of the Logan Bowling Association and Logan County Club. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Logan where he sang in the Chancel Choir, taught the Builders Bible Class, and served as an elder. Bill was also a graduate of Logan High School and the Southern College of Watchmaking.
Those left to cherish his memory include memory include his wife, Lillian Clegg; two sons: Ronald W. (Gayle) Clegg and Kenneth E. (Beth) Clegg; one daughter, Lynn E. (Alvin L.) Gleason; ten grandchildren: Julie (Myron Brown) Gleason, Amy (Joey Groah) Gleason, Lauryn Davis, Matthew Clegg, Anna (Will) Hooper, Andrew (Danielle) Clegg, Kari (Chris) Martin, Kathryn (Tom) Hermann, Kelsey (Jeremy) Johnson, and William âWillâ Clegg; nine great-grandchildren, with two on the way; and a host of other dear family and friends.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church of Logan with Pastor Jim Musgrave officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill. Friends may call on the family from 7 to 9 p.m. on James Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
