William David Dilly, 59 of West Logan passed away early Saturday morning, March 20, 2021.
He was born July 5, 1961 to Delores White Dilly Tackett of Peach Creek and William Dilly of Washington, DC. David was preceded in death by his first wife, Melissa Reynolds Dilly; son, Christopher Dilly; and stepfather, Emil Tackett.
He was a 1979 graduate of Logan High School. After high school, David went to WVU for 2 years then transferred to Marshal where he obtained a bachelorâs degree in history. He then enlisted in the Army where he served as a SGT at Fort Riley, KS and fought in Operation Desert Storm in the Big Red One. David went on to work as a correctional officer in Ohio for many years before moving back to Logan, WV.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Delores Tackett; wife, Kristen; In-Laws, Mike and Sharon Napier; sons, Stephen (Amber) and Ryan Dilly; daughter, Kaitlyn Dilly OâConnor; stepson, Micah Napier; sister, Diana (Dallas) Hunter; brother, Joseph Tackett; brother-in-law, Jamie (Janet) Napier; nephews, Matthew and Chad Hunter; niece, Summer; great-nephews, Chad and Jaxon Hunter; 3 grandsons, and 2 granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Akers-James Funeral Home. Burial with military rites will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday, at the funeral home.
