Winna Mae Crum, 88 of Holden, West Virginia went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 29, 2008 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, following a brief illness.
She was born January 23, 1920, in the town of Inez, Kentucky to the late John and Maxie Wood Stepp.
On April 8, 1939, she married Leonard Crum who preceded her in death on June 21, 1997. She was also preceded in death by one daughter Connie Sue, and two sisters Evelyn Decker and Vivian Slone.
Mrs. Crum was a homemaker and a member of Central United Baptist Church for over thirty years. Survivors include seven daughters, Loretta Seoane of Zephyrhills , Florida, Olivia (Randy) Carpenter of Logan, West Virginia, Lois (Ben) Ressler of Dade City, Florida, Wanda (Randy) Buffington of Morganton, North Carolina, Darlene (J.D.) Marcum of Chapmanville, West Virginia, Edie (Mike) Bojaski of West Logan, West Virginia, and Janet (Frank) Staggs of Barboursville, West Virginia; four sisters, Martha âKittyâ Burger of Tampa, Florida, Thelma Eversole of Zephyrhills, Florida, Peggy Walker of Norcross, Georgia and Goldie âTootsieâ (Everett) Edmonds of Grove City, Ohio and one brother, Galliah âBusterâ Stepp of New Mexico; fourteen grandchildren, her eldest grandchild, who was often thought of as one of the daughters, Sherry Seoane (Craig) Knippel of Land Oâ Lakes, Florida, Angela (Jamie) Huggins of Destin, Florida, Mark Adkins of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Melissa Adkins of Charlotte, North Carolina, Lori (John) Karuza of Vencenza, Italy, Julie (Mauricio) Acatitlan of Bessemer City, North Carolina, Leigh Ann Marcum of Charlotte, North Carolina, Joyce (Mike) Ramey of Chapmanville, West Virginia, Heather (K.C.) Jones of Chesapeake, Ohio, Tiffany Staggs of Barboursville, West Virginia, Michelle (Michael) Kuzelka of Palm Beach, Florida, Jason Ressler of Dade City, Florida, Dustin and Katelyn Bojaski of West Logan, West Virginia; ten great grandchildren, Chris Price, Trey and Audrey Huggins, Mikaela Kazelka, Michael and Elizabeth Karuza, Autumn Walker, Bethany and Sofia Acatitlan, and Gavin Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, September 1, 2008 at James Funeral Home Chapel in West Logan, West Virginia with the Rev. Glenn White officiating. Burial service will follow at Crum Cemetery in Inez, Kentucky. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
Her daughters are eternally grateful for the wonderful example, teaching, and guidance of a Godly mother. Because of her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we know without a shadow of a doubt we will see her again.
