Each of the staff members at Akers-James Funeral Home is committed to providing your family with the finest in personal care. In fact, for years, it’s been comforting for area families to know that we are available to help at any time of the day or night.

Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer
Chris is a 2008 graduate of Chapmanville Regional High School, a 2016 graduate of Southern West Virginia Community & Technical College, and a 2019 graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Chris began his career with Akers-James Funeral Home in June of 2015 and became a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in September of 2020. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, his wife Betty and their 4 sons, Ryder, Jensen, Lane, and the newest addition to their family, Christopher. Chris is licensed to sell Preneed Funeral Contracts in West Virginia and is commissioned as a Notary Public in West Virginia. He is a member of the WV Funeral Directors & Crematory Operators Association and a member of the National Funeral Directors Association. A life-long resident of Logan County he resides on Mill Creek and is proud to serve the community he grew up in.
